Prayer Letter: October 2017

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

Thank you for praying for us and those in Ukraine. We are thankful for your prayers and support. We had a good harvest service this month, and had some visitors from various places. One lady came from a city about 5 1/2 hours away for the service and fellowship. We regularly send her tracts that she faithfully passes out. This month, she brought a box home with her. We’re thankful that others around the country are passing out tracts and being a witness. We began our Bible institute classes, and had one visitor come out the first night. We post the videos to YouTube, where people study along with us in a correspondence course style class. We are working on a website, where students of the Bible can study along and have access to other Bible-believing material such as audio preaching, books, and videos. Please pray for these efforts, and for those who are studying with us.

We have been sending out many paperback New Testaments in addition to the full Bibles, and people have been very receptive to them. We’ve had orders from many different places, and we send them free of charge if people make a Bible order, or order other literature. One man asked me as I was walking by with an armful of Bibles what all that material was. I gave him a tract, and talked to him about the Bibles. Many people are unaware that there is a Russian translation of the King James Bible, and are interested that it's available now. I gave this man a free New Testament along with his Gospel tract. We pray that they will get distributed around the world and that people will be saved from the plan of salvation in the back.

There is a hill in Kyiv called Bald Mountain. It’s the largest of several barren hills in Slavic lands (with others in Poland and Russia) where witches, unclean spirits, and devils supposedly gathered periodically. The frequent lightning strikes kept some parts of the heights treeless. Satanists still use the area for meetings, and the whole place has an eerie feel to it. I was able to talk to two men near the area on Halloween, of all days! A place where pagan Slavs, witches, and modern Satanists gathered under the Devil’s influence is a place where men heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and received free New Testaments. Please pray for us in the next month, for souls here to be saved, and people to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your continuing prayers for us.
