Prayer Letter: April 2017

Dear Praying Friends and Family-

Thank you for another month of your prayers and support. The Lord has seen us through and protected us so far, which we are thankful for. We had a good missionary month, Easter service, and time of evangelization on the streets. Thank you for your prayers about the school ministry. We were able to meet with the director of schools for our region, and he informed us about the paperwork needed to get into schools. Although we will have to begin next school year, if everything is turned in correctly, we have the potential to get into any school in the country. This would be a huge blessing, so we ask for you to continue to pray about this possibility.

We ask prayers for the family of Ducia Tanasova, who passed away this month following an illness. Pray especially for her husband, Nikolai. Nikolai and Ducia were saved new immigrants to Tennessee when I met them, and were very helpful to me over the years as a young man burdened for Russian-speaking people. Pray for their family during this time.

Please pray for our time of evangelization in the first two weeks of May. Kyiv is the host city for the Eurovision song contest, which means that thousands of visitors will be coming to the city from all around the world. We received several boxes of English John and Romans, and have thousands of English tracts to pass out, in addition to the usual Russian and Ukrainian tracts. We would like to get out as many tracts and Bibles as we can during this time. We have already noticed a large number of foreigners in the city, which will only increase in the next few weeks.

We are especially looking forward to the upcoming printing of the entire King James Bible translated into Russian. This has been a meticulous project of over 17 years, and has proven to correct multitudes of places where the traditional Russian Bible deviates from the King James. If you would like information about how the Russian Bible (Synodal version) differs from the King James, you can read my father-in-law’s book on the subject, An X-Ray of the Synodal Text. It can be found at this web address:

http://www.harvestukraine.org/contents/final_authority/synodal/synodal_text_examined_extended_version_intro_preface.htm

We have had inquiries and orders from the countries of Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, America, Australia, and Russia, from Moscow all the way to the Pacific side near Japan. Once this is printed, Russian speakers all around the world will finally have access to a text that is faithful to the King James Bible. The printing project will cost $15,000, which will cover the cost of 1,000 copies. If you are able to help out financially, please let us know. Thank you for continuing to pray for us and for your support. We could not be here without your needful assistance and prayers as the Lord has led you. Thank you for remembering our requests in prayer. We pray that you are all well and continuing to follow our Lord wherever He leads.

Love in Christ,

David and Naomi Lohman
