Prayer Letter: March 2017
Dear Praying Friends and Family,
Thank you again for praying for us and the people in Ukraine. Naomi and I appreciate your prayers and the opportunity to serve the Lord here. We hope and pray that you all are well and are keeping close to our Lord.
We’ve been able to pass out many tracts in the last month. We found a large amount of tracts and booklets at the church such as “Millions Disappear,” “This Was Your Life,” and “The Truth About Hell.” We have been passing them out and talking to those we can. I had the chance to lead a young man named Yura to Christ as we were at a subway station market. He heard the Gospel and bowed his head and asked the Lord to save him as we stood next to the highway. He didn’t have a Bible at home, so I gave him a copy of the New Testament translated into Russian from the King James Bible. Pray for him to grow spiritually, read his Bible, and come out to church.
Please be in prayer for the church in the next month. We are planning to have a missionary month every Sunday except Easter, and invite local evangelists and missionaries to present their work. There are some local missionaries here that are doing a fine job and are active witnesses, preachers, and teachers. We are praying that focusing on missions will encourage our people and the missionaries to continue on in the fight for the Lord. There is still freedom in the country, and, with the exception of the eastern part of the country and border with Russia, security to preach the Gospel. Pray for our missionary month, and for the youth at our church, that they would get a burden for souls and serving the Lord.
We are also planning to pass out a lot of tracts on the subject of Easter in the weeks leading up to April 16th. Being a majority Orthodox country, Ukrainians greet each other during this time with the phrase “Christ has risen.” Our prayer is that instead of just saying the words, that Ukrainians will believe on the risen Christ and be saved.
Thank you again for praying for us, and for your words of encouragement in the Lord. We endeavor to pass on your love in Christ to those in Ukraine. May the Lord bless you.
Love in Christ,
David and Naomi Lohman
