Prayer Letter: February 2017
Thank you for remembering us in your prayers. We have had a good month, and are enjoying seeing the Lord’s hand at work in the country.
We were able to visit with some Bible-believing Ukrainians in the last month. I was able to travel to Zhytomir, a city about two hours away to preach and spend time with the believers there. We had a good service, and it was encouraging to see the people there laboring for the Lord. There was a group of at least 30 there, and they are active evangelizing and preaching in their area. We were also able to conduct a service online with the group in Berdyansk, who meet faithfully every week. It’s a blessing to see faithful men and women around Ukraine who desire to learn more about the Bible.
We’ve seen an increase in orders for Bibles and Bible-believing literature; to America, Russia, Belarus, and around Ukraine. Some new students have signed up for correspondence courses to learn the Bible, so they have been sending in their work to be graded. Our prayer is for these students to be grounded in the faith and to teach others wherever they are. When the King James Russian translation comes out, we expect a large number of orders from around the world. Please pray for this ministry; the correspondence school, shipping and translation work, and for those who are receiving them.
Please remember some upcoming ministry plans in prayer. We would like to get into elementary and middle schools around Kiev, specifically to pass out tracts and Bibles. We’ve had the opportunity to teach classes on English in the past, but it’s our desire to give our testimony of salvation and the Gospel to the children around the city. The President of Ukraine signed a declaration to recognize the importance of the Reformation this year, and this could give us an entrance into schools around the area by using that subject to talk about salvation. Please pray that the doors would open where needed, so we can speak and pass out Bibles and tracts to the hundreds of thousands of kids around Kiev. Thank you again for your prayers and support. We hope that you all are well.
Love in Christ, David and Naomi Lohman
