Dear Praying Friends and Family,

Thank you for the blessing that you have been to us in the last year. We are thankful for your love and encouragement, and your desire to spread the light of Jesus Christ around the world. We are thankful for the freedoms that still exist in Ukraine; the ability to witness and preach openly.

I pray that you all had a good Christmas time and were able to be a witness for our Lord. In Ukraine, Christmas is casually observed on December 25th as “Western Christmas.” More emphasis is placed on New Year’s, and the Orthodox Church Christmas is on January 7th. As such, people are in the “Christmas spirit” until mid-January. We pray for this opportunity to be a witness to Ukrainians, as their minds are already on the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also a chance to witness of the only free gift they could have this year, the gift of eternal life.

The Lord has opened some doors in the area of Bible Baptist Church. Several people have come to visit from the surrounding neighborhood. One man recently returned from the war zone in Eastern Ukraine and has had a rough life. We are praying for his salvation, as he’s heard the Gospel every time he’s visited. One saved young man named Anton came to this area from a different city to work, and visited about four months ago. Since then, he enrolled in our discipleship lessons, and recently finished the final lesson of forty-eight. He has grown spiritually and learned a lot since he visited. He will be leaving to go back home soon, and his desire is to go into full-time ministry in the near future. Pray for him, that he will continue growing in the Lord and remain steadfast.

Please be in prayer for our upcoming Bible institute. It is held in the summer and in the first week of January every year, and is attended by Bible-believers all over Ukraine. Like the summer Institute, we will have classes in the morning, followed by evangelism in the markets, streets, and subway stations, and an evening service with preaching and singing. Pray for those attending, for the saved to be edified and encouraged, and for the lost to hear the Gospel!

Thank you again for your support and blessings. We pray that you all have a safe and happy new year.

Love in Christ,

David and Naomi Lohman
