Dear Praying Friends and Family,
Thank you again for your prayers and faithful support. I’m looking forward with anticipation to arriving on the field in Kiev, Ukraine, and certainly thank you all for your help in getting this far. Thank you for your prayers regarding Charity Baptist Church. With the temporary uncertainty involved in finding a new pastor, I prayerfully resigned and followed the Lord’s leading to Anchor Baptist Church and Mission Board, under Pastor Mike Elliott. Please pray for Charity as they transition to a newly called pastor and press forward for the Lord in the future. They have been a big help and blessing in my life over the last few years, and I continue in love and prayer for them.
Please pray for a few people that I’ve had an opportunity to witness to over the last few weeks. Tay is a young man who goes to church on occasion, but works most Sundays. He didn’t claim to be saved, and promised to read the tract I gave him. Laurie is a middle-aged lady who claimed to be saved, but had a shaky testimony. I brought up some verses about what it truly means to be saved, how it’s not just being “ok” between you and God and trying to do more good than bad. Salvation is through Jesus Christ as the only sacrifice for sins, and that your faith in his death and shed blood on the cross will save your soul from an eternal hell. It’s not our works of righteousness, but His mercy and His work on the cross so long ago. Also pray for Jason, who was saved in jail last year, that he will get in a good church and stay away from the friends and activities that put him behind bars.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be working on the necessary visa paperwork with the Bible Baptist Church in Kiev. I’ll be applying for a longer-term religious visa that would allow me to stay in Ukraine longer than the typical 3 months between renewals. Please pray that the paperwork would go smoothly to receive that visa.
Thank you again for your prayers and encouragement. You are a blessing.
Love in Christ,
David Lohman
