November-December 2015

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

I conclude the year with burdens and blessings, and am altogether thankful at the richness of God. We serve a great Lord who provides, protects, and allows His children to work for Him, all for His honor and glory. He is worthy of so much more than He’s given. Revelation 4:11 says, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. I endeavor to bring the Lord glory and pleasure, in spite of my own shortcomings and sins. This time of year should make us more thankful for the time we’ve been given and the things we’ve been provided with, all to bring glory to the One who gives them. The Lord has given me some great blessings in the last year: a Godly future wife, safety, dependable transportation, financial support, and work to do for Him. A particular blessing was a meeting in Porter, Indiana. My 95 year-old saved great-grandmother was able to attend and hear my burden for the Ukrainian people. I have been blessed to have great-grandparents on both my Mom and Dad’s side who accepted Christ as their Saviour. They have left a good heritage, and I have no excuse for not serving the Lord and giving Him my life.

Please be in prayer for my home church, Charity Baptist Church. With the recent resignation of the Pastor, the church is praying for the Lord’s will in the future and for a new pastor. Please pray for them in this time, and for wisdom in all aspects of this decision.

If you could, remember in prayer a few upcoming financial needs. Upon arrival in Kiev, I will be met with a few expenses out of the gate. I will be looking for a dependable vehicle to get around in the city and make trips to surrounding areas. This cost will be between $7,000 to $10,000. I will also be looking for an apartment near the church to start out with, so these are the two large expenses I will be praying about. Some smaller expenses involve documentation: an initial visa, driver’s license, etc. Please pray for these needs in getting established in Ukraine.

Again, thank you for your faithful support and friendship. I wish you all a Happy Christmas time and a good new year. May we be more faithful to serve and love our Lord and encourage one another. Love in Christ,

David Lohman
